Bathroom Drop-in Sink Review
This is a very nicely finished drop-in countertop sink, appropriate for a bathroom or guest washroom. The sink was delivered with a matching popup drain fitting, which included two drain covers. The popup drain cover for the sink opening came with two finishes, a matching ceramic drain cover as well as a chromed drain cover; each are interchangeable and easily swapped as appropriate to match your bathroom decor. The single-hole sink does not come with a faucet, that would be purchased separately to suit the room’s style. The sink is a drop-in style with a top edge that is elevated several inches over the countertop surface. The included template to cut the correctly-sized hole in the countertop is very much appreciated, as the opening is more like a rounded-edge rectangle as opposed to a simple rectangle or oval. Prior to cutting the opening, you must ensure that back of the sink is far enough away from a backsplash wall to give enough clearance for a faucet. The single faucet hole integrated into the back of the sink should offer enough clearance to operate most single-hole faucets in its full range of operation. Of particular note is the fact that the sink does not have an opening in the sink basin for overflow; there is no provision for minimizing spillover if a running faucet is left unattended. Not allowing for overflow is a consideration when purchasing this type of relatively shallow sink. Not having any provision for overflow can be a positive consideration from an aesthetic perspective, as it gives a very clean look to the sink’s basin. No overflow control is also a factor when choosing a drain fitting different from the drain that is included with the sink, as a more traditional sink with a provision for overflow does require a different type of popup drain. The drain fitting included with this sink cannot be used on an overflow-type sink. Whether or not an overflow sink is important to you is primarily an aesthetic consideration when designing a bathroom. If a sink that has any utility in mitigating water damage from when filling an unattended sink is important to you, then this type of sink is probably not your best choice. Plan carefully so there are no surprises.
Very nice sink.
